earthquake

1/12/10   There was an earthquake in Haiti, not far from where my girls are. News so far is the children at the Orphanage are safe. One nanny and the director were injured when a wall fell down. Please pray for the safety of the children and workers and for the people of Haiti.

1/13/10  Continue to keep Haiti in your prayers. Many people are sleeping in the street again tonight, many are still trapped, and they are quickly running out of clean water to drink. No new news on my girls or their Orphanage in PAP. We did hear last night they are sleeping outside until the aftershocks stop and the buildings are found to be safe.  Still no word from our lawyer or how the injured workers are. Praying they are safe and able to get medical treatment.

If you would be so willing to email your state senator to allow adoptive families to bring their Haitian children home ASAP. Given the destruction, there are going to be so many more children homeless and orphanages are full. Bringing our children home will possibly allow children a safe place to sleep if room is made available at the Orphanages.

If you can, PLEASE help out the people of Haiti who lack even the basics of clean water, shelter and medical care - you can donate through several orginizations such as Red Cross, FHG (the O my girls reside) or one of the may other organizations.
