The journey to my girls has been one of learning. It has been over a year since I accepted the referral of these two beautiful girls. During this time I have learned a great deal about Patience and Faith. God only knows what other lessons are to come.

Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all of your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Wow have they grown! It is SO hard to wait and wait, and watch them grow without us....

Why Haiti?

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere? Haiti’s unemployment rate is over 60%? Haiti’s literacy rate is under 50%? Haiti’s life expectancy is 57? The majority of the Haitian population lives on less than a $1 a day, with the median income about $60 per year. Only 25 percent of the population has access to safe drinking water, and less than 30 percent of the population has access to adequate sanitation. Haiti’s infant mortality rate is 12% (ten times higher than the US)? Many Haitian parents can’t afford to raise their children and choose to leave them at a local orphanage, or crèche, for basic care and ultimately adoption? There are an estimated 1.2 million orphans in Haiti.Haiti has an interesting history and rich culture.The in-country stay for adoption is 3-5 days. Single women can adopt.
